Another interesting fact is Daund to Aurangabad trains (like Pune - Nanded exp) need not even Manmad. They can reverse from Ankai itself, and save around 30 kms of train travel. If a connector line is built between the 2 lines, the reversal can also be avoided, and travel time can reduce by net 1 hour. And by building a similar connector line at Daund, the travel time from Pune to Aurangabad will be just 5.5 hrs, which is the same as taken by many buses.
