Should railways be converted to PSU as the likes of DMRC, KRCL(konkan railway) etc to get rid railways of politics, regionalism, mens unions and bureaucracy.

not amritsar tragedy , it is written there 'aftermath of amritsar tragedy' means after accident occured how the siddhu couple pressurized for action against LP, pressurized railways for giving compensation to victims, even though railways was not at fault, and how people tried to put the whole blame on other unrelated railway staff like lc gateman. Ye sab politics hi to hai.
pls see what happened in US and panama when they privitaised railways.. NZ renationalised railways. so making it as PSU with private players is not good one. there should be proper measures to curb politics can be implemented. Politicians follows mentality of people so its people like us making mistakes. so blamming is not a solution. we have to get service major load of people at low price. our GDP per capita is not good like europe to have such excess infra structure.
when they allow private they will take major slots by paying extra. then in remaining slots IR only can run major lossless trains so intermediate caterance and rural caterance becomes issue with less trains. for many people life. we have to adjust few losses. no other go.
This poll is for the future. Future 50 years will definitely see private players being involved, one likes it or not because capacity of government to run service based firms is constantly decreasing year after year.
Though the concern raised by you is genuine and neutral regulators ( like TRAI in telecom sector ) would be needed which would set a level field for all players

BSNL struggles even though they have infrastructure. IR gave KR and see HMRDA agreement in KA. what happened. they provide fast connectivity to major places but rural areas completely neglected. there is no proper passenger trains and local trains. always profitable trains. Here itself failure is seen openly but no body ready to admit it.
