My parents are old people, and they want to travel from Lonavala to Chennai. The train stops at Lonavala for only 5 minutes. It has the same quota as CSTM. What will you advise me now? Book ticket from CSTM and travel there for boarding ? Or try to convince that whatever time the train stops is sufficient enough to board? We cannot ask all ppl to go to CSTM for boarding, then why should trains halt at Dadar?

We all are here to reply to blogger's query and all replies are in regard to that query.
In your reply (#24612-16), it is mentioned ... one needs to get used to boarding ..... and thus generalised for all - in a way asking all ppl. And now your relpy (# 24612-19) ... we cannot ask all ppl to go to CSTM ... This is contrasting to each other.
However my all replies are in the context of the blogger's query and subsequent replies thereunder. It is entirely passenger's choice

Let the people themselves choose the boarding point convenient to them Dadar/CST.
The official halt at Dadar may be for 2-3 mins but it is not uncommon to find a train halt for about 4-5 mins there .
Moreover platform nos 4/5 at Dadar CR both have train position indicators along with announcement system .This is enough for any passenger to stand at the right place on the platform near the coach.

distance from mumbai central to CSt is too long so better you book your tickets to dadar and from dadar to chennai, that is why i asked that can i board the train at cst rather than dadar and I am so happy that so many people helped me they have guided in the right direction and I wish to thank you all for the same. From now on I will book the tickets from cst rather than dadar and also yes this time i will board the train at dadar.
Thanks a lot all of you
God Bless you all

In the world of internet, you dont need to depend on anyone to figure out the distances. Just logon to www.wikimapia.org or www.maps.google.com to figure out distances.
