It is my view that railway should allow to cancel confirm tatkal tkt, otherwise how the waitlister will confirm., than wait listed has to take round of TTE.so this is the best positive favour to TTE by railway .
I differ on your opinion. Tatkal facility is for those who plan their journey on the last moment. If you are not sure about the journey even on the previous day, you should be prepared to shell out the ticket cost. More than that, Tatkal scheme is a big money-spinner for Railways, you should consider that the passenger fare is untouched for last several years and let Railway earn some money through this scheme.
Even if a person is not travelling due to some circumstances, he/she will not be interested to cancel as there is no refund for confirmed tatkal tickets. So the vacant berth on journey will be a beneficial one for TTE as he can allot it upon his wish sometime.
In that case, let them make a provision for refund of a minimum amount upon cancellation of confirmed Tatkal ticket and give preference to allot the seat to an end-to-end Tatkal ticket holder
Yeah, something should be done so that a passenger cancelling his tatkal ticket will get some refund. Amendments for tatkal booking was done to prevent its misuse, not for cancelling the refund.
