we are scheduled to travel till Thrissur by this train. My mother is aged about 70, is it convenient for an elderly person to sit through for 9 hours jounery. Did not realise it is not a sleeper while booking the ticket:(

Mohan, in the past this train had sleeper coaches and also one 3AC coach but these have since been discontinued. So there is no option but to travel sitting. It is not convenient but again not impossible to undertake the journey for 9 hours from SBC to Thrissur.
I had gained 2 kilos in this train last year when I travelled in this train :-) I must have had atleast 5 plates of phalam bajji in up/down train :-D Brilliant food
