RailFans don't miss their train. Why? Because they go to the station HOURS before the actual departure of their Train - to watch OTHER trains depart. - Prince Maan

Some useful info I thought I shall share with all of you. This has a reference to my PNR # 278508 re: my son's tkt by 3AC of 12839 HWH-MAS Mail on 31st Dec., from Howrah to Chennai. Initially waitlisted 16/8, the tkt got confirmed sometime yesterday.
Now change of boarding was required from HWH to BBS. So I sent my son to the nearest PRS with an application and copies of the e-ticket and ID proof. The guys there did the needful but asked him to get fresh printouts. My son is not a RAILFAN leave alone an ADMIN. He immediately asked me to get him fresh printouts evidencing change of boarding from HWH to BBS.

fresh printouts of the tkts I just now got continue to show boarding at HWH on 31st Dec and also status as WL 16/8.
However, a printout of PNR status check which I did, shows a) Current Status of the tkt as CNF (confirmed) (b) Boarding Station as BBS and (c) Boarding Date as 1-Jan-2012. Since, my son was jittery about whether he would be permitted by the TTE to board the train and occupy his berth at BBS the next morning, I have attached the PNR Status printout to the e-ticket to allay his apprehensions.
This could be a way out for passengers who are keen to carry along with them documentary evidence of the change of boarding point in addition to the journey ticket.
Experts, what say ?

Just want add little :
The eTicket is not editable document. But the chart will clearly show new boarding point as (now) original boarding point.
For TTE chart is important than print out on this subject.

ohh...i see...so the only option is to get a printout of the screenshot showing pnr status at the official website...because it is the only place where the change in boarding point is being reflected...

That is not really necessary but if you are jittery like my son, then that is an option available.

Dipyaman, the last time I changed my boarding point from CBE to PGT, the clerk just scribbled on the tkt something to the effect that BOARDING CHANGED FROM CBE TO PG, without any stamp or signature.

When the same was done for my Bro.. the clerk, changed the BP on his system and then gave me back without scribbling
