Sirsi town is approx 60 Kms from Kumta railway station. From Sirsi, there is a village called Sonda approx 17 kms away on the banks of river Shamala. There are huge rocks in the riverbed on which Shivalingas are carved. The place is called as Sahsralinga. Few other places to visit are Marikamba temple and Aghanashini Valley.

Thanks. I notice from the map that there is a KSRTC Bus stand which is nearer to the station. Probably this is the bus stand to go to
Nope u Noticed Right one its KSRTC Bus stand but i given distance for Old Bus stand it seems. New Ksrtc bus stop still nearer for Railway Station. BTW where wr u not been on IRI so many dys? Going Busy ?
Yes. There are plenty of buses from Kumta to Sirsi. There are many buses which starts from Kumta going to Bengaluru via Sirsi and buses from other places like Karwar-Sirsi will also pass through Kumta. If I am correct there may be more than 20 buses plying between Kumta Sirsi in a day.
