I don't think railway is going to give any response. The proposal was given in December 2017 itself. Now its upon people of purulia whether they will sit idle or will protest against this decision
For ur information burdwan already have a rajdhani. Its hwh ndls raj via Patna. Its a weekly rajdhani

BWN is a city almost on par with ASN & DGR, in terms of sheer station revenue collections it outgrosses local heavyweights like ASN & DHN.....

ER tend to avoid it's own station for the sake of others. However, with addition of ASN in HWH Rajdhani a sense of satisfaction now prevails. BWN is a very important junction and competes in earning by majority of unreserved tickets. That truly shows how well it can flourish with premiums.
It's a politics powered Rajdhani. It's TT lacks logic in few cases.
