Train services on Eastern Railway’s Sealdah, Howrah and Asansol divisions were disrupted as strikers threw banana leaves on overhead wires leading to power failure in Canning and some other parts of the suburban network.
An Eastern Railway media release said strike supporters obstructed rail movement at Shantipur, Gede, Plassey, Bongaon, Madhyamgram, Chandpara and Hasnabad stations.
DO YOU THINK BENGAL DESERVES A NOBEL PRIZE FOR PHYSICS for disrupting electrical circuits with BANANA LEAVES. ARE WE NOT PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN TO HAVE MADE SUCH A GREAT SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTION TO THE WORLD.

IRF,., the leaves are on the OHW... and the Loco will be touching the wires below where there is still power isnt it? Are we sure that the failure is not because of a short circuit....
