I can only hazard a guess because I don't have WR Time table. Also I don't why Bhuj is having these specials.. religious reasons perhaps. In which case one would have to see the Panchang !
Two guesses::
The trains have been so timed as to make use of slots available on those dates between trains already scheduled, which include availability of power (locos), rakes, platform berthing, pit lines for inspection and so on.
And/Or
...
on those particular dates, the Panchang will reveal what are the auspicious timings if any for people to visit the temple/s and have a convenient train back to Mumbai !
These are guesses....
good wishes

Your posting carries your views (on Why .. introduction of spl trains on this route) rather than reply to the original blogpost raised by me. The schedule of these train timings have been published in the WR circular and the same details are posted here.
For your information,
i) There is a need and already a pending demand with WR Headquarter office, for one additional regular train on this route as there is heavy traffic throughout the year on this route.
ii)
...
Secondly, it's nightmare to get bookings particularly in summer vacation and Diwali times on this route.
iii) To Bhuj.. it's Not much importance as tourist centre but it's bcoz many many natives of Kutchh - part of Gujarat, reside in Mumbai and hence heavy heavy traffic. It's better to post a query on such matters so those having details will reply to you instead of making any guesses.
iv) Bhuj is big commercial centre and for info sake, this is the extended BG railway route from Gandhidham to Bhuj (58 kms) . Earlier trains used to terminate at Gandhidham. Gandhidham is near to world famous - Kandla Port.
v) One can assure that Railways would earn a lots of revenue even if one more additional - regular - daily train is started on this route and with assured full occupancy througout the year, IR will generate a hefty revenue out of this.

@ Moderator :
Plz look into the original blog post. Thanks.

I really appreciate Mr. Kapadia for your views. This section really needed an additional train and I just wish that WR extends the train for the month of June too. It is a very happy moment for me that Bhuj has got a special train, after a long time. Mostly special trains terminate at Gandhidham only. Hope that people of Kutch make optimum utilization of the facility extended to them. One thing in particular intrigued me is the fact that this summer special has not been given stops at Adipur & Anjar. I thought WR might not have mentioned the same in their circular but I also checked at IRCTC website, there also it does not show stops at the mentioned stations in its route. I really don't understand this. Though Anjar and Adipur are not much farther from Gandhidham, but when the train is passing through these stations why...

not give the facility to the residents instead of taking trouble of going to and fro Gandhidham for the train???
