can i take an unresereved general ticket to go to durgapur from Kolkata? is there no distance restriction?

From my personal experience by this train, general bogies are not very crowded.
distance restictions exist...no ticket prior to durgapur allowed...if you board from koaa,you can get a seat..its crowded,but not over crowded...manageable with family and kids too...
Yes BG. There is a distance restriction of 160 kms for travel with sleeper class/ IInd class tickets.
eastern zonal timetables must be mentioning it...i was refused a ticket from koaa to bwn...
