My father told their is to be a king of sandur who is mainly marata background when in 80s he use to look after sandur and their is college too near yeshwantnagar station mainly belongs to king.. Whenever railway official visit yeshwantnagar route the king use to arrange food and show good hospitality to all railway officials and employees..
Yes I have listen this story too through local inhabitants of sandur.
Acha.. I was not knowing but it was days of MG Era where lot of MG carriage cum wagon mix rakes used to run on this route.. Miss those MG days lot now. That time I use to think when they do Gadag Bijapur broadguage and run BG trains and was also happy seeing BG running in newly Broadguage line and MG rakes and YDM locos parked idle at Gadag yard some days after they started dismantling loco and sent some where and scrapped MG small rakes that time too I didn't felt any sad but slowly I started missing those MG loco and rakes which I used to travel in my childhood.. Now also I miss those MG trains running between Gadag Bagalkot Bijapur..
Yes , Yes. I too heard that some time around 1999 there used to be running of broad gauge fo freight and metre gauge for passenger in Gtl-Tngl section. After some around 2000-2001 the SCR started gauge conversion. But I also missed MG era of that time
