This intercity is designed owing the fact that morning rush of Godan Express could be cleared and the long unnecessarily running Jaunpur Passenger to be scrapped for an intercity in leiu of quick connectivity.
The long pending demand of an Intercity to Allahabad from Azamgarh, could be fulfilled that way.

Can easily go up to bhatni. There is lack of services in azamgarh bhatni section also
