Starting November 10,2021 North Western Railway (NWR) has commenced running goods trains on electric traction between Palanpur and Madar.

more... the Commissioner of Railway Safety’s approval (on October 29, 2021) for the use of electric locos post approval of route electrification of the 50.17 km Beawar-Guriya and the Ajmer-Daurai sections of NWR.
Electrification works of 716 km from Rewari to Palanpur, NWR main rail route has been completed according to NWR . Doubling works of Rewari-Palanpur was completed on March 20,2021.
NWR has so far completed RE on 2259 route km on its system with
sections such as Rewari-Ajmer via Phulera, Rewari-Ajmer via Jaipur, Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur and Ajmer-Udaipur already operating under electric traction.Presently NWR operates 50 pairs of passenger trains on electric traction.
High rise OHE line has been installed on Delhi-Rewari-Ringus-Phulera-Palanpur and Kanakpura-Madar rail routes to enable smooth train operations of double stack container trains on this route.
Route Electrification (RE) works of Rewari-Alwar section was approved in FY12 at a cost of Rs 116 crore while RE of 940 route kms – Rewari-Ringus-Phulera-Palanpur and Alwar-Jaipur-Phulera -was approved in FY14 at a cost of Rs 852 crore.
