For today or tomorrow, I am trying to book a tatkal ticket between KCVL and MYS in train 16316. It is a full-length ticket. But irctc website shows not available for tatkal quota in SL. Why I am not able to book the tatkal ticket.
Kindly let me know if I am making some mistakes during ticket booking.

Tatkal is being shown for only 3ac/2ac. For some trains ,tatkal is still not started after regularisation, like seshadri express. But this selective tatkal is strange.
Book in general wl in sleeper, it'll definitely confirm.
Even if it doesn't, 3ac is goin to be available on current reservation. Don't take 3ac tatkal.

That's a common knowledge,atleast for someone on IRI. Point being discussed here is that there's no tatkal allotment only for SL in this train.
On the day tatkal is open, for SL, before 11am , it'll still show how many seats are available, just that booking starts at 11. In this case, that's not there.

Thanks for the guidance sir. It is the school vacation start day and train has peak booking on that day. So it is little risky for current reservation. I have a ticket at status RAC 11 which will mostly get confirmed.
Why I was going for tatkal was, I needed a single lower berth as I have an elderly (60+). I am not sure if a lower berth will be given when the RAC ticket get confirmed. I am afraid if they will be Side Uppers.

Hi . Please don't call me sir😅. Don't put out your PNR number in a public forum.
If you want a lower berth , you can cancel that one person's ticket in your current PNR and rebook under lower berth quota(13 avbl for 23rd journey,SL) But that person will be away from rest 3.
