Yeah but my point is when did railway has started switching berths within same PNR? I thought the cancelled berth should go to RAC
Here they allotted to other passenger?

More interesting thing happened now
System gave both passenger as lower berth.
Railway is pretty much shuffling the berths rather then giving to needy one in RAC.

IF You Have LB MB UB or something like Seats and you cancel LB then System Allocate same LB to that MB and UB to MB and Free UB to RAC/WL this is Normal Practice since Long nothing new in IT
PS . no Switch over SLB SUB Seats

I have always got MB during my RAC/WL. Even when i book tickets within 4 hours prior to journey after 1st chart prep, i only saw vacant MB everywhere in the seat allocation map. Never get UB.
last month, I cancelled a ticket partially including 1 LB, 2MB, 2UB, 1 SLB. Only Passenger travelling was booked on SLB. After cancelling rest 5 ticket, remaining passenger got the LB, instead of existing SLB.
