Downing aspects are fare and punctuality. 3A fares just double than that of regular GR. If they don't want to subsidise like GR, then shut down all GRs at once. Why only this one. Do poor/lower middle class people reside only in Bihar/UP.
But practically, let it run as regular train, do away with special fare with increased priority and it would be for better good of local public than original GR.

That rake is beyond limit for pax use. So no way that's coming back.

A daily regular SF train serves way better than a GR! There are 2 rakes that enables a daily train to run. That GR rake is beyond redemption, not to mentioned the train being restricted to a tri-weekly .
Replacing that GR with HS might be counter productive with the inflated prices that would lead to lower number of takers essentially.

I have mentioned above that that current service is good than original GR just that they regularize it so that special fare is removed and punctuality is improved in talcher bbs section.
Will run at least 5-6 years as SPL till sufficient gains is attained before permanent service.
