The LKO-ALD tracks aren't getting a big overhaul anytime soon. Only a decade back, they were running with sephamore signalling. As for AY-GKP Passenger, it mainly gets late at MUR due to controlling issues which is why passengers do not prefer it.
Yes, 3 trains to BSB and all get full. I have personally traveled in the morning one via PBH and it got completely full at LKO itself. I once spotted the evening Shuttle when it was ready to leave the tracks and people were jam packed in all coaches [ since there is no 2S reservation and only few AC coaches to speak of].
The Ganga Gomti doesn't get too crowded. Neither does the morning Allahabad bound Intercity from Lucknow. It also leaves at roughly the same time at the Varanasi bound...
