For a RailFan, watching MPS skips are far more interesting than watching F1 race - Prince Maan

Yo, what's up with this proposal? Why the heck does a Mumbai train gotta go all the way around Chennai and then back to Mumbai at RU? Especially when there's a much shorter and neglected line of VM-TNM-KPD-RU already there?
The Ahmedabad train makes sense since it needs passengers from the MS region, but what's the deal with this train?
Three reasons to run it through VM-TNM-KPD-RU (if it actually becomes a regular train):
1. Short and direct route, a great alternative to the Balaji Express and most importantly, it'll help out the TNM, TRK folks who haven't seen a single permanent train in like forever.
2. Lots of TRK, TNM peeps work in Mumbai and already show support for the Chalukya train.
3. People from AP and MH going on pilgrimage will have a direct train to TNM, CDM, TPJ, MDU, which they've been visiting a lot lately. Plus, it will boost local tourism.
