What's this proposal? Why a Mumbai train need to circle around whole Chennai region and then gets back to Mumbai line at RU, particularly when a short distanced and a most deprived line of VM-TNM-KPD-RU is present?
Ahmedabad train made sense as it needs patronage from MS region, why this train need to be like this.
3 reasons to run it through VM-TNM-KPD-RU(if it materialize as a regular train):
1.

Short and straight route, a perfect alternative for Balaji Express and most importantly, Will give some relief for TNM,TRK People whom didn't see a single permanent train for the past 10yrs.
2. Lots of TRK,TNM People work in Mumbai region and consistently given good patronage for Chalukya.
3. AP, MH pilgrims will have a permanent direct train for TNM, CDM, TPJ,MDU as they visit these places in larger numbers lately and will give a boost for local tourism.

Another strange thing from SR, special via MS and proposed regular service via CJ. Let's wait and see, what SR gonna do?

Great
I am trying all possibilities of connecting TN towns with Mumbai. In a somewhat alternate consolidated list, I suggest following:
1. KIK VM KPD RU GTL SUR LTT (Biweekly)
2. PDY VM KPD RU GTL SUR LTT (Biweekly)
3. RMM TVR VM KPD RU GTL SUR LTT (Triweekly).
4.
...
TEN MDU TPJ SA KJM GTL SUR LTT (Biweekly)
5. TN / TCN MDU TPJ VM CJ RU GTL SUR (Biweekly)
6. KIK TPJ SA DPJ BAND DVG UBL MRJ LTT (Triweekly).

If such an arrangement materialises,
a. TPJ MV VM TNM KPD get daily train
b. KIK gets 6 days a week.
c. SA gets 5 days a week
d. MDU gets a 4 days a week train
e. RMM and TJ gets a tri weekly.
f. PDY gets a bi weekly to Mumbai.

Practical suggestion to SR, instead of spoiling many existing trains.

if they dont spoil 3 daily trains then chennai mumbai premium trains only needed assuming those the normal trains can take CJ or TNM route based on the need. As CJ emu got extended to AJJ, and 2 daily trains stop in AJJ i think CJ,CGL can manage on average. TNM can get additional trains as it gives more remote connectivity. TNM TRK PLR KPD Sholingar, Walajah tirutani can be given if they want to route via VM KPD RU. Moreover I cant understand y they starting from NCJ while it have Balaji and co for 6 days , TEN JAM and co for 3 days, NCJ GIMB weekly and Jeyanthi Janatha daily till PUNE. Thoothukudi, Rameshwaram, Trichy would have been ideal starting points for such kind of train.
