I remember a lot of people used to mention how Sleeper and General class were loss makers and needed to be terminated as a whole.

What do y'all think about this? Loss making VBs. Some times ago I also made a post about how useless Bhopal - Indore VB was and Sampoorna Kranti's unreserved class was making more revenue than that of Bhopal - Indore VB.

Clearly, Indian Railways and the Government are also at fault for Railway's loss making nature and not just some exclusive classes like SL or GS.

The basic reason about why you're not able to understand his statement is perhaps the reason why you're aren't the most suited for this kind of debate.
You're using loss whenever convenient for you in comparison to revenue INSTEAD of profit.
You're using Dainik Bhaskar as your source of information, who themselves are stupid enough to compare entirety of Bengaluru Rajdhani with Vande Bharat of Bhopal having no clear view as to how many seats Bhopal actually gets in Bengaluru Rajdhani.

highly doubt you have a clear logical number for the revenue you apparently calculated for Unreserved Class of Sampoorna Kranti. Did you use Secondary Data from Railways to find out UR Tickets or Stand in the Station Yourself to calculate how many of them were buying tickets for Unreserved Seats as part of your Primary Data. You can also resort to personal insults for me asking you these basic questions.
And you've CLEARLY AND UNDENIABLY made up your mind towards one side using the good old poverty social service card.
You've simply put a subjective view and you'll be much happier if people praise you for something you're not- Logical and Objective. I didn't want to indulge but I thought you should know that there are certain people who can actually see through things.

I'm not sure about anyone else but I pretty much am suited for this kind of debates, I've indulged in a lot of them actually.

Regarding "Profit" or "Revenue", how come any train or any entity will make profit if it's revenue itself is less than the cost it takes to operate it? It's clearly mentioned that cost of operating that VB is 2.5 times more than the "Revenue". Not even profit.

Regarding my post for Sampoorna Kranti one, it was guesstimate and even if you chose not to believe it (no one's forcing you to)

You can still believe Sleeper revenue which comes from Sampoorna Kranti, it's not like Sampoorna Kranti's Sleeper class is ever going to run at any lower occupancy than 100% at any given day (maybe some exception but I highly doubt that too)

Point was, even Sleeper class of Sampoorna Kranti was/is making more revenue than these flopster VBs.

Regarding poverty, I've made up my mind towards it because India IS poor and especially my region.

Do you really think 2 Sleeper classes in trains like Lichchavi and Bundelkhand makes any sense? These trains serve Bundelkhand/Purvanchal/Bhojpuri regions primarily.

When it comes to VBs, you can go check out my previous posts about hit VBs. I've collected their datas and posted it here on this site only. So it's very clear that I'm not any anti-VB or anti-AC class type of an individual. I just want to see rationality.

Dainik Bhaskar is infamous for providing wrong facts related to Railways, and when it comes to Bhopal they are a level above. I do not believe them when it comes to Railways as I have seen them printing some great blunders.

I highly doubt the operational cost figure mentioned in the news.

more than twice than that of a loco hauled Shatabdi which has more halts more running time and on top of that uses diesel as fuel in its EOG (in case HOG doesn't work), its also Higher than that of Rajdhani Express which runs all the way from Bengaluru to Delhi.
If this is the case then IR along with whole world is fool to invest in trainsets. and VB is not going to run in profit even if the occupancy is 100% on every run.

I tried to ask the authenticity of this data from BPL Div PRI but didn't get through. So I have just submitted a RTI asking for the operating cost and revenue generated by RKMP VBs in last 1 year along with Shatabdi and dedicated Superfast running on the same route to get the official figures. Lets wait for the response and then come to conclusion.

Wohi toh meri samajh nahin aa raha tha.
Even for a minute I was thinking whether they're confusing Manufacturing Cost with Operational Cost 😂.
Because 75 Crore toh Fully Occupied Berth Multiplexing waali Vande Bharat bhi shayad hi kar paaye. And Benguluru Rajdhani running is cheaper at 68 crores despite it running for 1000's of extra kilometres with multiple rakes each having it's dedicated staff and dedicated Diesel Filled EOG's. Koi sense hai iss baat ki 😂
