Though unrelated, why was the place name changed from Naya Raipur to Nava Raipur?
In a bid to give local touch to the name of the state capital.
Replacement of the Hindi word ‘Naya’ with ‘Nava’ in Chhattisgarh dialect.

It was done( although not required)by the previous government to attract local masses Just like New Mumbai-Navi Mumbai, Bengalore -Bengaluru, Calcutta-Kolkata etc.
