Today, while passing through the HWH car shed between Howrah and Liluah, I came across a rather strange spectacle. A new LHB rake was berthed there with markings in TELUGU. And then I saw that one of the coaches had a board reading SECUNDERABAD - VISAKHAPATNAM. For which train is this brand new LHB earmarked and why is it in HWH of all places. Can VSKP VENKAT throw some light ?

Dude, both are SCR trains. Where did regionalism come from? LHB is better utilized with 6 runs a week rather than a weekly train which is going to run empty going by the current demand..Simple Logic.
I certainly can reply to some of the latter comments but I would not do so just to avoid unnecessary fighting.
Just one last statement.
If at all the reason to give LHB to SC-VSKP Duronto is because it runs jam-packed and covers most of the days a week why not give it to other train way more prestigious than this train having equal rush and covering equal number of days in the week?

Yes. Best utilization should be done. However, a single rake can only support a tri-weekly run and the best in those is SC-VSKP Duronto :)

Why did not they start off the VSKP Duranto with a brand new ICF rake.......forget LHB and the pandemonium surrounding it.How would it made the people of West Bengal feel if you were promised an LHB rake for the N.J Shatabdi and then at the last moment given some decade or more old ICF rake??? Just think on those lines.
i think rake may have been outsourced from a different zone in order to run it as a special ...lhb allocation depends purely upon railway board's orders....
