NICE SAM BLISS 322 blog postswill anone take this train from chennai to mangalore? why trains from MS take route via TPJ to MAQ?

Actually there were two trains MS-ED express via TPJ and TPJ-MAQ day express. Now both has been merged together. Majority people travel from MS to TPJ and KRR. This is the only train which connect ED to TPJ line people to chennai
This train introduced as MS-ED Express via TPJ first, then extended to CBE. At the same time TPJ-MAQ day time un-reserved Express is also there.
SR combined these two trains and runs as MS-MAQ exp via CBE,TPJ.
Till now this train mainly benefits KARUR people. Soon to be introduced MAS-PLNI Exp may change the patronage.

I had once taken this train from mas to clt. Online tatkal ticket final wait list status was wl-2 . Since ticket was online and WL, hence couldnt board mangalore mail. Immediately rushed to Chennai Egmore station and would you believ it , I got a confirmed current 3AC ticket to CLT from the current reservation counter. Probably goes to show that train is only patronised heavily between chennai and trichy. After which it is more of local passengers. In fact after erode, there were lots of passengers who used to board ac coaches and pay the difference of fare and travel short distances to cbe, palghat, shoranur etc . They were mainly company executives,sales managers etc who would get travel claims
