I need to travel from Madras to Secunderabad. It will be a day journey. Since, there is no direct train from Madras to Secunderabad during day, i have to travel in deifferent trains. I will start early morning and reach SC at night. So i have to travel from Chennai to Vijayawada/Tenali first and then from Vijayawada to Secunderabad. Should i purchase two unreserved tickets one from Madras to Vijayawada and another from Vijayawada to Secunderabad(unreserved superfast general price). Or shall i ask for a Madras to Secunderabad unreseved ticket. The price of the latter will be less than the former case.
But if you travel in Jan shatabdi you might have to take 2 different tickets-if you are travelling by 2 normal trains then one through ticket is fine
First of all, i wont be able to board Janshatabdi. I need reservation for the same.
Barring Raj/Shatabdi/Duranto trains you can buy ticket from any station to any station. Also have supercharge ticket for boarding superfast trains.
As i understand you query, I would like to suggest one thing... Try to check this link
Travel to GUDUR (1.5 hours from chennai) then catch Krishna Express... you will reach SC at night
More over you may get a confirmed ticket for krishna express...
Oh, i thought the TTE could penalise me, since there is no direct train from madras to secuderabd in day time. And the fact that i am changing trains
So i can happily purchase one general ticket(superfast) from madras to secunderabad and the TTE wont question me.
