Is it possible to see the vacant seats available just after charting is done so that we can go and book a ticket at counter..If yes ..How to see?

If Current booking shows available tickets...Then can we take a general tickets at intermediate station and board the train and upgrade the same to AC tickets from TTE? or current booking allowed only from originating station?

here in IRI, if you check the availability after Chart preparation, it will show the number of vacant berth/seats. If seats are not available after chart preparation, it will show 'Not Available'.
Current Reservation facility is not available at all intermediate stations.
