This is not going to happen overnight to mention about the diversion of 16565/66, right?
Diverting 16565/6 will not be easy as the actual problem to introduce more trains to Mangalore is in Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya section.
Main reason to lay this track route to reduce travel time between m'lore and b'lore to 8 hrs, and it obviously traverse through shiradi ghat no doubt.
and if 16565/6 can't divert, then soon after this new line. none will prefer to travel via CBE long route

In my opinion, it will take ages to conceive the project, acquire the necessary land and execute and complete this project.
16565/66 will be cancelled and forgotten very well before this project is finalised.

Mallya and Adi ChunchanagiriMath also I believe are causing problems. And some trains like MAQ-MAS Mail may also get diverted thru this route
