This train is not extended to Howrah. It has rake sharing arrangement with 8415/8416 Howrah-Hatia Expresses. That is why some people have a mistaken notion that it is extended to Hatia. This is also why departure of 8645 East Coast Exp is often delayed from Howrah because 8616 Hatia Howrah arrives late almost daily as it is running on diverted route.
