#berthmultiplexing
I was asked by many of you if I could frame down the definition to the above term and the tiny little intrinsic details associated with the same in a single blog for easy reference. So, here it goes:
Imagine:
a) A train which follows the route HWH-BWN-DHN-MGS-CNB-NDLS.

Assuming that everyone has understood the previously discussed points, let me proceed with the last and final explanation.
#chartingatoriginatingstation
Now, I have explained above how #berthmultiplexing takes place which subsequently might lead to forwarding of berths. Now, the "forwarding" thing can happen during booking (Explained above) or even at chart preparation.

is the charting of pooled quota done at source itself? as pooled quota is same through out the journey of a train and same berthis used for different pools enroute, so i guess pqwl is charted at source itself. can any one pls confirm it?

PQ always sees chart preparation from originating station. However it may not be at the same time w.r.t. GN Quota Chart Preparation ex - Originating Station.
However berth/s may get confirmed (Without Chart getting prepared) due to ##chartingatoriginatingstation and #chartingatpreviousremotestation (Previous/Originating Stations seeing RL)

today i have learnt a new thing and would like to share here for the benefit of members...if any train has vacant berths from its origin in general quota but waiting list in a station later that lies in remote location quota, then during charting of the origin station itself, the remote location wl is provided the berth number and status as chart not prepared. The example is of pnr no.6107225822.too many vacant berths from gaya,so wl from sbg provided with berth number at gaya itself. I initially thought to book it from gaya and get the boarding point changed later, but then decided against it and took the risk just to know the procedure adopted by railways and it paid off. Thanks indian railways. I have got a confirm ticket for me today.
