ওনাকে বলি, ১২ নং প্লাটফর্মে ট্রেন দেওয়া হয়েছে। এবার চিন্তমণি আমাকে জানান যে ওর কাছে প্ল্যাটফর্ম টিকিট আর ট্রেনের রিজার্ভেশন টিকিট কোনোটাই নেই।
সঙ্গে আবার রসিকতায় ভরা মিষ্টি হাসিতে বলে, "দিদি, আমি বেশী বাংলা জানিনা। এখন কি করবো?" ইতিমধ্যে ঘড়িতে তখন দুপুর ২.৪৮ আর তিস্তা ছাড়বে ঠিক দুপুর ৩.০০টের সময়। একমুহুর্ত আর দেরী না করে ওনার হাত ধরে দৌড়তে থাকি টিকিট কাউন্টারের দিকে। আর ওনাকে বলি এখন আর কোনো কথা বোলোনা। সোজা লেডিস টিকিট কাউন্টারে অনলাইন পেমেন্ট করে নবদ্বীপ যাওয়ার জেনারেল টিকিট কাটি আর ওনাকে নিয়ে আবার দৌড় লাগাই ১২নং প্লাটফর্মের দিকে। গিয়ে দেখি ট্রেনের লেডিজ কম্পার্টমেন্টে পা রাখার মতো জায়গা নেই। জেনারেল কম্পার্টমেন্টেও তিল ধারণের জায়গা নেই। এমন অবস্থা হলো যে কোনো T T E সাহেবদের দেখাও পেলামনা। অবশেষে কোনো উপায়ান্তর না দেখে সোজা ট্রেনের গার্ড সাহেবের দ্বারস্থ হই, সবটুকু সংক্ষেপে খুলে বলি ওনাকে। উনিও এক মুহুর্ত সময় নষ্ট না করে সাথে সাথে নিজে চিন্তামণিকে নিয়ে যান ট্রেনের হ্যান্ডিক্যাপ কম্পার্টমেন্টে। ওখানে গিয়ে উনি চিন্তামণির সিটে বসার ব্যবস্থা করে দিতে চাইলে চিন্তামণি ওনাকে বলেন, "এই জায়গা যাদের জন্যে সেখানে তারাই বসুন। তোমরা আমার জন্যে যা করলে সেটা আমার চিরজীবন মনে থাকবে। আমাকে শুধু একটু নীচে বসতে দাও, তাহলেই হবে । আমার সত্যিই জানা ছিলোনা যে তোমরা ভারতীয়রা এতো দয়ালু।"

I was about to grab a seat on the local train to Park Circus, when suddenly I saw this foreign chick standing at our local train door and asking some regular travelers if this train goes to Nabadwip. They all were like, "No way." Then when she wanted to know how to get to Nabadwip, I noticed they were not really helping her out but making fun of her outfit instead of giving her directions. The ladies compartment of the train was occupied by some people who definitely weren't welcoming.
Seeing this whole scene made me feel both mad and sad. Without wasting a minute, I got off the train. I spoke to her and found out she's come all the way from California to Kolkata for visiting our place of Nabadwip and Mayapur. I also learned that she's a devotee of Lord Krishna. It was 2.40 on the clock when she asked me how to get to Nabadwip from Krishna Nagar local train. I briefly explained to her that she won't get there on the local train; she should take the Tista Torsha Express as it goes directly to Nabadwip.
I told her the train leaves from platform 12. Chintamani then informed me that she didn't have a platform ticket or a reservation ticket for the train. As we were chatting, she in a sugary tone asked, "Sis, I don't know much Bengali. What should I do now?" Meanwhile, the train was leaving the station at 2.48, and Tista would depart right at 3.00. Without wasting a moment, I held her hand and ran towards the ticket counter. I then told her not to worry anymore. I booked a general ticket for Nabadwip online from the ladies ticket counter and grabbed her hand, taking her towards platform 12. Upon reaching there, we realized there was no space in the ladies compartment nor in the general compartment. Even after hailing for a TTE, we couldn't find anyone. Finally, without any alternatives left, I guided her to the train guard, opened up about our situation, and he kindly allowed us to travel to Nabadwip in the train's handicapped compartment.
