It is very irony to map rails vs roots when Railways saves a tonne for environment compared to road. Rails have more capacity/m compare to road. Though constructing Bangalore suburban requires some tree fell, In long run it saves many. Why no one debating about pollution caused by NICE road, Bangalore Chennai Expressway project, Bangalore mysore expressway project which moves less than 10% of what a normal suburban and heavy rail moves.. If 2 lanes in middle of bangalore mysore expressway taken away even light railway constructed in that space it would move same amount of persons/hour/m than what currently the expressway moving in 2 lanes.
Railway projects wont cause even 10% of tree reduction compared to what Highway projects does. Its Auto and Cab lobby which are trying to delay BSRP as much as possible in the name of environment
Wasn't same kind of nonsense propagated in Arrey too by celebrities travelling in posh luxury cars who can't live even a minute without air conditioning ?
Just ask those environmental experts who oppose metro --
1. how many taxis ply from/ to airport in a day?
2. What is the quantity of petrol sold in a day for 2 wheelers and cars?
3. How much poisonous gases are released due to traffic congestion per day?

Those who affected by the metro and suburban will oppose it using various reasons, Irony is those who oppose it are very minority with strong lobby than majority people who benefit out of it. Cities like Oslo, Helsinki which have comparable population of 2 tier cities in India like Trichy, Tirupathy, Belagavi has more metro, tram and sub urban than what our metros have. Government should understand it and promote sustainable public transport using good means.

PrivatizeIndianRailway.~ 1349 blog postsThe train should depart from HWH at its previous timing or at 3 pm straight . Gets overtaken by 12329/79, 12319 , 22317 , 19414 . The worst part is OT happens before ASN whereas it should happen after ASN as per TT. But Eastern railway controllers being a selfish / narrow minded people always gives at most priority to their own home zone trains , be it mail/exp , Sf , pgr type or even goods train . The trains of other zones has to suffer . I have never seen such kind of biased controlling in any other zones as the one happens in Eastern Railway.
