This is an advance notice of a feature which will be released in the next couple of days. It is called "Background Mode". In the "Normal Mode", the slider is green and to the left. In the "Background Mode", the slider is Blue and to the right.

In the Background Mode, IRI pages, blogs, etc. are always available instantly in any kind of internet connectivity, even OFFLINE. If you have visited the page before, the page is available. Blogs/Pics will always be available FRESH

In the Background Mode, the IRI website will behave just like a Messaging app. You will get notifications of Pvt. Posts, Attns, Blogs, etc. These messages are already downloaded in the background, whenever internet connectivity is available. So, when you click on any notification, the blogs are immediately available, even if there is no current internet connectivity at that time.

Also, you will be able to Reply to blogs, Rate blog posts and Upload pictures in the Background Mode. Just click the Post button, and the box immediately disappears - you don't have to wait for the picture to upload, or retry posting if the Post fails. After you click Post, you may resume normal browsing - even if you are completely offline. The picture will be uploaded in the background whenever internet is available.

The Background Mode is especially suitable while travelling, when the internet connection is slow or goes on and off. Just like a messaging app, all browsing will be instant. You will be able to post blogs, upload pics, rate blogs, irrespective of whether the internet is slow, intermittent or unavailable. Whenever internet is available, blogs will be auto-posted, new notifications and blogs will be downloaded.
