So, Patiala station bagged DRM award for maximum earning of Rs 200 cr , for year 2014-15 in the entire UMB division. You can refer to this blog post : /blog/post/1441620 . According to NR HQ, the route is already a profit route. They had told me in Jan 2015 , that the current ROR of this route .i.e. Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Bathinda is +16% (Which currently include the freight trains only), that is why the Doubling and Electrification had been sanctioned for this section. #Patiala #Doubling #Electrification

There'll be a traffic block of 3 hours for 3 days on Rajpura-Patiala section from tomorrow, for placing main girders on the ROB over its main span crossing the tracks. #Patiala #DLMW

The old and the new Goomties or Gateman Huts. As posted earlier also , All the old goomties in Patiala are being re-constructed as new ones , shifting them a little away from the tracks , is a part of upgradation of Panel Interlocking work ,which shall be occurring between Kauli to Kaulseri through Patiala on the Rajpura-Dhuri section. In the picture I have shown Old(on the left) and New (on the right) are at LC no 16. The Old ones shall be demolished once the PI work is done. #Patiala #PanelInterlocking #Goomties. The other goomties in Patiala which are already under construction or constructed other than this one are, LC 20 (already constructed), LC 23 (already constructed) , LC 24 (already constructed) LC 15c has been converted in to ROB , hence shall be shut. LC 14 and 19 might get converted into RUB.
