This train is prime example where political considerations override logical ones. There was no need to run VB on a route that supports only 110 kph and is limited to 50 kph post Haridwar I think. It has such a terrible starting time from LJN that people will need to wake up at 0400 hrs to catch this train and sacrifice their sleep [oh, and no matter even if they splurge more than 1A on the executive class of this train, they can't sleep because it's not meant for sleeping].

Yes occupancy shows that give a good option the people will prefer it anytime. Don't think that any overnight option is possible between LKO and DDN as LKO MB section is over saturated between 9-12 at night.
My dear friend, your statement is 100 percent logical and based on facts. An overnight service in any case is always better and much more preferable if possible between the source and destination. But when the thought comes down to the point of politics and its involvement, its better to ignore everything wisely. One could never have control over politics and their wague decisions. Nevertheless VB could just be considered as an option to connect these two capitals and nothing more. Options were less and VB avails this advantage which reflects in its occupancy. Its occupancy must never be considered as VBs success. Its just lack of options and availability which VB takes advantage of. But I would agree to you and still prefer introduction of a SF of LKO Mail caliber with optimum sleepers and general in composition to run.
