Couple of images from National Rail Museum, Delhi. The rail museum itself is located very close to Delhi Safdurganj station[ which itself sees only few trains per day ] tucked between embassies[right next to Bhutanese embassy this is].
One can spot an electrified MG as well.

Few more images. I visited it on the weekend. It is closed on Monday, I think. It has a slightly expensive but decent restaurant as well inside. Not much crowd during peak summer [June].
The abandoned MG Palace on Wheels can also be seen in one image.

"Sir M Visvewaraiya Motibagh" on the Pinkline is closest to this. The metro station is ~1.5 km from the museum. One could probably take an e rickshaw[ I took one when returning from there] to the museum or just walk if the weather is pleasant. Since it is located in a planned part of the city, there are ample trees and proper footpaths aligned upto there.
Images include international builder/number plates and a WDM 4 close to a turntable.

That would have been cool. I peeked inside the Palace on Wheels and it was completely broken, in a run down condition. I think even the original bolted fans were there still. Since it was parked at one end, hardly anybody was going that side.
A very poor decision by. Increment in sl coaches is ok but keeping ac 3 tier for namesake is no where justified. Train will have pathetic economy coaches jco 12 October onwards
Wait, 3A coaches became how much?Like a single 3A coach again like in the good old ICF days of two decades before :p

Economy coaches are just slightly downgraded versions of AC 3 Tier, IMO. Dunno why they keep adding them in such large nos.

Hasn' the Shatabdi been doing 150 kph for couple of decades now? Why bring down the speed here; has there been an accident that involved these trains in these sections? In either case, this only shows how bad IR is managed.

I see. Wikipedia says that Standard TPWS systems[those used in British rail] can only stop trains going upto speeds of 120 kph. So, if IR was using TPWS systems without any modifications till now on NZM-AGC route[ I think only this part is actually capable of 160 kph and beyond AGC it defaults back to 130], it was already operating in dangerous area?

UTR is still not too well connected. For eg, to reach LKO station, one had probably need to change twice from UTR. It lies in the residential area and of course, no scope of metro there. In comparasion, even Mohanlalganj has easier access to public transport since despite lying at the edge of LKO, it it next to the main road.

Bokaro and Chandrapura are only 15 kms apart. Same for Asansol, Raniganj and Durgapur, the distance between the two set of stations is too low for a Shatabdi stoppage, IMO.

They should keep CRP and BKSC then and atleast remove Raniganj then. The latter section has no dearth of trains.
