yes.. i think a pair of DEMU Train runs between Jaynagar of ours and Kurtha in Nepal
IR gearing up to curb the bad practice.
However, it's sad that even after being ready to pay up, IR is not able to provide the service (i.e. CNF Berth).

Unless capacity addition is not done by increasing frequency of existing with extra rake 225 rakes required, introduction of new Amrit Bharat 450 rakes, 150 intercity rakes with Non AC then only they can control unauthorized travel in reserved classes. Rampant corruption in IR with TTE, RPF hefty fines will not work. Instead of searching in trains why not make entry into railway PF with valid ticket by deploying staff or efficient scanning machines. First removed ticket checking staff at gates.

Not just NFR and ER, every grassroot connections. Here in NR and NCR, almost all of the BBK-LKO-CNB EMU systems trains were canceled after CoVid-ZBTT era.
Post COVID, even SER stopped some intra-bengal trains like Adra RajyaRani, PRR Laalmaati or some trains between KGP - JGM - PRR like Olchiki Express, Birsa Munda Express etc.
No other Railway Zone / State has seen such a drastic reduction in train services post-COVID like ER and Bengal. This is a deliberate attempt to burden passengers to/from Bengal or even those traveling within Bengal. All other states/zones have seen new trains mushrooming up pre and post COVID, with almost all trains restored (even Bandra NZM Yuva is still running till this...

Before code of conduct new train from Radhikapur Raiganj, to Delhi was approved but not started yet
The only reason is politics here. When Vaishnaw came he linked Politics with Railway. As Bengal is dominated by opposition party so they are completely ignoring especially Kolkata & Asansol Durgapur region. Whereas in North Bengal as most seats are won by Ruling party, they approved new trains like Malda Bengalore Amrit Bharat, Balurghat Sealdah , Dibrugarh Deoghar etc.
Kolkata has 13 trains to Delhi whereas Mumbai has 30+ Trains to Delhi . 4 Daily trains in which only 2 of them are with Non AC coaches ( Poorva & Netaji) & 2 Rajdhanis. Is this enough? Especially during October , November no special train is announced from Kolkata to Delhi only augmentation of Coaches are done . So now...

The charm and beauty of this train has always been its trademark aggression.
Absolutely ripping through its route, it would fly past its 10ish halts and reach Chennai just before lunchtime. It played the dutiful second-in-command to the Shatabdis, as did its partner Brindavan. This earned it the nickname ‘common man’s Shatabdi,’ after all.
