Is it easier nowadays to book Tatkal tickets by using lightweight version of IRCTC? Has it made any effect?

No, I don't think that has made any effect! I have booked tatkaal tickets, lets say 15 number of times, in the light-weight version and of that have failed 8-9 times.
What I've experienced is, the site makes you proceed through the names and payment section easily but the section after payment is done is where all the damage is done.
The sites keeps buffering, the payment gets debited from the account and the ticket does't get issued.

getting TATKAL is always like winning a battle.. bt yeah light version site has made an impact.. maine abhi thode din pehle 18th feb ko calcutta se book kara tha.. still reality check tab hogi jab abhi thode dino baad HOLI ka rush aayega for tatkal
I feel they should have a separate website for tatkal booking.
