Right to sleep is fundamental right: Supreme Court
In long route journey especially in night, human being is under natural compulsion to natural rest i.e. sleep and the same is essential for a human being to maintain the delicate balance of health necessary for its very existence and survival. Natural rest i.e. sleep is, therefore, a fundamental and basic requirement without which the existence of life itself would be in peril. and The Hon’ble Supreme Court has ruled “To take away the right of natural rest is also therefore violation of a human right.
