Finally "WAP5 SCALES THE BHOR"
Pune welcomes the first WAP5 loco into its territory-BRC WAP5#30072
The WAP5 showed its true power and climbed one of the steepest ghat in the country with a gradient of 1:37.
These loco were earlier deemed not capable of climbing Bhor due to their low Tractive Effort and everyone was of impression that it wont come via this ghat

Well yes. Steeper the gradient is, it would become even difficult for WAP-7 to do the task by itself. But, as you might know, tractive effort of P-5 is much less when compared to P-7. Hence, to save any loss of time P-5's are usually not sent to the Ghat areas.

I didn't get it right this WAP5 must have scaled the Bhor ghats with Twin or Triple bankers so whats the special in it even a WDM2 hauled trains scaled the steepest ghat sections with double or triple bankers.
