I traveled to LTT Mumbai from Kolkata on the 23rd of February by Jnaneswai Superfast Express AC first class. My suitcase was stolen from the locked cabin. We were 3 passengers in the compartment. The theft was detected some 15 minutes before Rourkela. A FIR HAS BEEN FILED WITH THE TTE.
HOWEVER THERE WERE NO RPF OR GRP ON BOARD. The RPF blamed the GRP and visa versa. I am surprised how a theft can occur in a first AC.
This is surely shocking.

Agreed, it surely is shocking.
But I guess a lot depends on the sector. Depending on that you need to be extra careful with your belongings.
I personally never use locks in trains, be it any class. But I travel in relatively safer routes.
