WAP-7 are designed for trains that have a large number of halts and for those who need fast acceleration. So they are given to trains like Chattisgarh Express, Krishna Express, Paschim express, Kalka mail. Train 16525/16526 Kanyakumari Bengaluru Island express also does have very large number of halts (about 44) in 950 km. So SWR and SR officials have to think of upgrading tis train to a WAP-7 link soon....SWR trains from SBC-MAS run about 80% of the trains with WAP-7 with just 18-21 coach load. Also TVC division LP's are also trained to handle 3 phase locomotives. So there will be no problem in upgrading the link of Island express from WAP-4 to WAP-7 ! Both LGD and RPM are now serving important trains of SR,SWR and SCR !! So guys please think to provide a WAP-7 link for this train !
