It is a junction point.
Trains from SPN to MB have 2 routes :
1.) via BE - RMU
2.) via AO - CH
CHTI is the junction point for trains coming from SPN and...

going towards MB via AO-CH. CHTI-AO-CH-MB is a branch line.
thus junction point is BE/SPN/AO.
