Can I know the procedure to change the boarding point of a journey?

Ok...any additional charges for this? Also I hope my seats etc. would not change, would they?
no additional charges for this and ur seats coach number will not change they remain the same
No additional charges to be paid. Seats would remain the same.
Then doesn't this process completely eradicate the concept of station quotas?? For instance, when I have to travel back from Bokaro Steel City to New Delhi by 12801 Purushottam Express, I have to book it from a station before, i.e. Purulia, since it has a different quota with higher no. of seats. Now using this process, doesn't it totally make the entire station quota system look flawed?
kindly check with the counter clerk, if quota is available from the station from which you wish to board, there may be problems. one of blogger/admin trying to book from Mettupalayam to Chennai (boarding at CBE) could not get his mission accomplished since both MEttupalyam and CBE had different quotas. check with the res. clerk before you wish to change your boarding station.
