Why do anyone need a puny loco when a hunk is doing a fab work.
WDP4D is used for trains which need frequent acceleration and deceleration..
Matsyagandha and Netravati have 22 coaches and many halts.. So, to maintain the schedule of d train with a load of 22 coaches and frequent halts both these trains get WDP4D in order to have fast acceleration and to save time.
On the other hand Duronto has 15-16 coaches with very less halts.. Hence, a WDM3A loco can haul it with ease..
