I traveled by 12147 KOP NZM Exp on 22nd April 2014 between KOP & PUNE. I reserved seat in Sleeper Class. My seat/berth No. was 47. Our leader was orange-yellow livery PUNE WDM-3D 11175. The train departed KOP at 9:06 hrs. within few minutes our WDM-3D started accelerating. It pulled the train fast till the bridge on the river Panchganga. We crossed this bridge at slow speed due to Permanent Speed Restriction. After crossing the river we again attempted gaining speed, but few minutes later started running slowly because the Distant Signal of Rukadi was showing Double-Yellow Aspect. Our train was detained on the Main Line of Rukadi because a train was On-line in the next block section. This was our first crossing and first technical halt. Overcrowded 51441 STR KOP Passenger crossed us here with PUNE WDG-3A. As soon as the Passenger train entered on the PF-1 at Rukadi, we...

received Line Clear from HTK & left the station.
This train has many technical halts betwwen KOP & PUNE because it runs behind the 11030 KOP CSTM Koyna Exp. 11030 departs KOP at 7:55 hrs, 1 hr 10 minutes before 12147, but 12147 starts running very close behind to the Koyna after KRD because it has very less number of commercial halts. Hence 12147 runs slower while crossing some stations like WTR. It is mostly detained for few minutes at Koregaon, NIRA, Ghorpuri.
We arrived MRJ at 10:00 hrs, 15 minutes before time. When we were received on PF-1, a BRN+BOST freight train with WDG-4 was waiting for the Starter (This train was going towards UBL), and at the same time 16531 AII YPR Garib Nawaz Exp with KJM WDP-4B was arriving on PF-3. We took 20 minutes halt here. At Nandre 11040 G KOP Maharashtra Exp was detained on the loop line. We crossed this station at MPS. When we were standing at KRD, one empty BRN+BOST freight train with PUNE WDG-3A crossed this station towards MRJ honking continuously. The train left KRD at 11:42 hrs. and ran further as per schedule.
At Palsi 51409 PUNE KOP Passenger was waiting on the PF because we had occupied the Block Section. After crossing WTR we proceeded towards the Adarki Ghat and while approaching to Adarki I saw the Distant Signal showing Double-Yellow Aspect. After crossing the Home we were taken to the PF and stopped. Within two minutes 12782 NZM MYS Swarn Jayanti Exp with PUNE WDM-3A crossed the station and after a minute our train also got Line Clear. After introduction of Electronic Multiple Aspect Colour Light Signalling on PUNE MRJ Section Line Capacity has been increased as well as lot of time is being saved during every crossing.
At NIRA a BCN train going towards MRJ with twin WDG-4s and at JJR 11029 CSTM KOP Koyna Exp with KJM WDP-4 40065 were detained for us. At JJR we were also detained for a while because there was only one Block Section distance between 11030 Koyna Exp and our train. Later we crossed Shindawane Ghat at nice speed and overtook 51410 KOP PUNE Passenger at ALI. Till Ghorpuri we maintained the speed and meanwhile crossed a BTPN train going towards MRJ at Sasvad Road (SSV). At Ghorpuri we were detained again for 5 minutes at Ghorpuri because that time 11030 Koyna Exp was being received at PUNE. Finally we arrived PUNE on PF-1 at 15:30, that means we cover the distance of 327 kms in 6 hrs and 25 minutes – My fastest journey on this section.
