The main Solution for above problem is to attach an extender to the footplate itself, whenever required it may be pulled out to reach platform . Also the Stairs should be somewhat made to be tilted to platform , So movement of Footplate in Up-Down direction as well as side movement will make it a perfect companion for all

Who will pull out the extender when required...proper care should be taken while constructing the pf so as to avoid such mistakes..
