You can board.....even without tkt.....I boarded at BBS and got down at BZA....I choose SL in HWH-YPR duronto which was empty upper bearth and slept till 5am next day at BZA

Trains does not have any commercial stoppages en route expect source and destination. The intermediate halts are just technical ones not commercial.So you cannot board the train from Tatanagar. You will have to board from HWH or else you will be marked as no show and your berth will be allotted to RAC passenger
