Saw a BGKT WDG4 reversing its BCNA rake inside FCI godowns and a 18712 of VATVA WDM 3A is holding its BCNHL rake on the loop line since 10 am till now. I don't know what's keeping it on hold and idling since morning.

Yes. It was idling since morning when I first spotted it till 4.30 in the evening when I again passed from there, and still it was there and idling with BCNHL on its tow. I dunno what was holding it there for that long.Yes. Too much wastage of diesel.
does anybody know what is the average diesel consumption while idling and while in motion for such engine
I am not sure about WDM 3A , but a WDG4 saves fuel by reducing its RPM to as low as 200 when idling. All I can say that the ALP was checking its fuel tank gauge in the evening.
