In a single ticket of 5 persons, Passengers 1 to 4 are having confirmed status in 2A in train no. 12602 CLT to MAS; P5 is given WL/1. Even after cancelling the ticket of P3, P5 remains in WL/1 position. How? If one of the Passengers from P1 to P4 cancels his/her ticket, will P5 not get confirmed berth automatically?

was the first 4 tickets booked under some quota like lower berth quota ( senior citizen quota ) , if that is the case then even if you cancel you ticket for any passenger , the WL will not get affected ....
