touring South India some of my myths got cleared.
1. South Indians are not fair in complexion.
Fact : This is totally wrong. I saw that a majority of south Indians (I went to Karnataka and Kerela only) are fairer than we north Indians and some are so fair that they can beat any north indian in complexion.
2. Language barrier
Fact: I found that language is not a barrier at all in Karnataka and Kerala (till ERS). If you know Local language then excellent. But if you don't know local language no need to worry, people there speak very good Hindi too as well as English. I was totally surprised. Whenever I went to hotel, I would start in English but seeing my identity card, the hotel people start speaking in hindi and that also very good hindi (Though with a south indian accent). Those who spoke in local language, I just requested them to speak in english or hindi and they just spoke in required language and helped me. Instead language can be a problem in north India. If you don't know hindi you can get some trouble in communication as well as in travelling.
